"Sauron"
F5B Savannah male

Sauron is a melanistic Savannah male. Determined to get the best male I could for my small cattery, I relied on the skill, and knowledge of experienced Savannah breeders
to pick this male for me. I knew they would do much better than I could selecting the right male for my breeding program, more importantly selecting a male that would best compliment my queens!
This awesome, sweet tempered boy has a deep purrrrrrrrrrr second to NONE!

Why a Melanistic (black) Savannah male you may ask and no, it's not because he matches my website theme! I'm told that "black" cats have the ability to work *MAGIC* in a breeding program that's why!!
This color is genetically predisposed to aid in darkening and intensifying spots,
clearing backgrounds in base coats for beautiful clear coats, all the while maintaining that wild exotic look! With his first litter on the ground this
theory has been proven because his first kittens are on the ground and they are lovely and BIG! (directly below) All have beautiful golden base coats and HUGE spots!
Below are just a few examples of the extrodinary kittens Sauron has produced for me so far.
Not only do they all have incredibly HUGE spots they all have lovely temperments and most are have dark noses!
When paired with my F1's I get the most wild and exotic look ever and great size. He's a wonderful producer.

Photos will be added as adorable Sauron kittens crop up!
In the case of some Melanistic "black" Savannah cats it is simply impossible to see their spots unless they are in direct sunlight, however I have been told that you can feel the spots and pattern!
Yes, through touch you can actually feel their tabby pattern and like feeling for a light switch in the dark you can actually tell a cat’s pattern without ever knowing the color!
This is simply amazing to me, but it's true!
So, with all that in mind this striking Melanistic boy was chosen specifically for me to compliment the needs of my current queens.
Sauron was chosen to clear up coats, add refinement, longer, more graceful necks and smaller, more triangular shaped
heads, with black noses and pretty eyes!

What's with his name?
I am "wildly" addicted to The Lord Of The Rings trilogy
so I had to of course find a tall, dark, and handsome character to name him after, which wasn't at all difficult to do considering there
were three full featured films to choose from!
Hey, I thought they resembled each other as far as they both had that pointy head gear thing going on,
triangular head shape, long claws, "hooded" eyes, and jet black tailored suits!! ..smile..

So, I named him Sauron after the Dark Lord of Mordor who was
disembodied when the One Ring was cut from his hand at the Battle of the Last Alliance in the Second Age.
Sauron was the greatest enemy of the free peoples of Middle-earth in the Second and Third Ages.

He was once a servant of Morgoth, but after Morgoth's defeat, Sauron became a Dark Lord himself and sought to conquer all of Middle-earth. He forged the One Ring to exert his will over others, but in the end it was the instrument of his downfall.
In the movie Sauron appeared as a great Eye, lidless and slitted, wreathed in flame. Against his piercing gaze none could stand.

I've heard it said that black is beautiful...
and I'm a believer! Sauron is a big, beautiful Savannah with awesome features and
a wonderful purrrrrrrsonality!!
He is one SWEET boy!
With his first litters now on the ground Sauron has proven he will sire big, beautiful exotic babies!
